Notification Preferences

Overview​

Control how and when CADENSA notifies you. Manage email notifications, in-app alerts, desktop notifications, and integration alerts for Slack, Microsoft Teams, and more.

Notification types:

  • Email notifications
  • In-app notifications
  • 💻 Desktop notifications (real-time, via Notification Center)
  • Mobile push notifications
  • Slack/Teams notifications (ENTERPRISE)

Email Notifications​

Configure Email Alerts​

Choose which emails you receive.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Notifications → Email
  2. Toggle individual notification types
  3. Set email frequency
  4. Save preferences

Email Frequency​

note

Per-category frequency configuration (instant / digest / never) is coming in a future release. Currently each notification type sends at its scheduled time.

Control email batching.

Options:

Instant:

● Send immediately
 Receive email as events happen

 Best for:
 - Critical notifications
 - Approvals
 - Billing alerts

Daily Digest:

● Daily summary at [9:00 AM ▼]
 One email per day with all updates

 Best for:
 - Team activity
 - Comments
 - Non-urgent updates

Weekly Digest:

● Weekly summary every [Monday ▼] at [9:00 AM ▼]
 One email per week

 Best for:
 - Activity summaries
 - Time tracking reports
 - Low-priority updates

Never:

○ Disable all emails
 No email notifications sent

Notification Center​

View notifications within CADENSA.

  • Click icon in top navigation
  • Red badge shows unread count
  • Dropdown shows recent notifications

Desktop Notifications​

Real-time In-App Notifications​

New notifications appear instantly in the Notification Center — no browser permission required.

CADENSA delivers real-time notifications via a persistent Socket.io connection. When a relevant event occurs (deadline approaching, budget warning, task assignment, etc.), the bell icon badge updates immediately and the notification appears at the top of the Notification Center panel.

How it works:

Bell icon shows unread count badge (updates in real time) Click bell to open the Notification Center panel Each notification links directly to the relevant task / project "Mark All Read" clears the badge with one click No browser permission prompt needed — works out of the box

Offline delivery: If you are not logged in when a notification is generated, unread notifications will be waiting in the Notification Center on your next login. A weekly email digest summarizes unread activity for users who have been offline.

Mobile Push Notifications​

iOS & Android App Notifications​

Get notifications on mobile devices.

Enable on mobile:

  1. Install CADENSA app (iOS/Android)
  2. Login to account
  3. App requests notification permission
  4. Tap "Allow"
  5. Configure in app settings

Slack Notifications (ENTERPRISE)​

Receive CADENSA notifications in Slack.

Setup:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Slack
  2. Click "Connect Slack"
  3. Authorize CADENSA in Slack
  4. Configure notification channel
  5. Select notification types

Best Practices​

Do's​

  • Choose appropriate channels - Email for important, Slack for quick updates
  • Use quiet hours - Avoid notification fatigue
  • Enable critical alerts - Billing, security always on
  • Group notifications - Daily digest for non-urgent updates
  • Test notifications - Ensure they're working
  • Review periodically - Adjust as needs change
  • Use desktop/mobile wisely - Enable for time-sensitive only

Don'ts​

  • Don't enable everything - Notification overload reduces effectiveness
  • Don't ignore security alerts - Always keep enabled
  • Don't forget to configure - Default settings may be too noisy
  • Don't disable billing notifications - Important for account status
  • Don't use instant for all - Batching reduces interruptions
  • Don't forget mobile settings - Configure separately from web

Troubleshooting​

Not receiving emails​

Problem: Email notifications not arriving.

Solutions:

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Verify email address in Settings → Profile
  3. Add noreply@cadensa.io to contacts
  4. Check notification settings (may be disabled)
  5. Verify email service allows CADENSA emails

Desktop notifications not showing​

Problem: No browser notifications.

Solutions:

  1. Check browser permissions (Settings → Notifications)
  2. Verify desktop notifications enabled in CADENSA
  3. Check OS notification settings (macOS/Windows)
  4. Try different browser
  5. Disable browser extensions (may block)

Too many notifications​

Problem: Overwhelmed by notifications.

Solutions:

  1. Switch to daily/weekly digests
  2. Disable team activity notifications
  3. Enable quiet hours
  4. Unsubscribe from non-essential alerts
  5. Use in-app only for low-priority items
