Release Notes — March 31, 2026
This release introduces task assignee-based visibility in the Project / Task selector used across the timer and manual time entry forms.
Time Tracking: Task Selector — Assignee Visibility Filter
Task Visibility Based on Assignees
The Project / Task selector (used when starting a timer or creating a manual time entry) now filters the task list based on who is assigned to each task.
Behavior:
| Task assignees | Who sees the task? |
|---|---|
| No assignees | All project members |
| One or more assignees | Only the assigned members |
Why this matters:
- Team members only see tasks that are relevant to them
- Reduces noise in the task selector for large projects with many tasks
- Encourages proper task assignment for better team clarity
Scope: Applies to all time entry flows:
- Timer start (Project / Task selector)
- ✏️ Manual time entry form (Project / Task dropdown)
Availability: All plans (FREE, PRO, ENTERPRISE)
Best Practice
If a task is shared work where anyone on the project might log time against it, leave it unassigned. If a task belongs to a specific person, assign them — only they will see it in the selector.
What's Not Changed
- Managers and Owners can still view and filter all tasks in the Tasks list page regardless of assignment
- The assignment filter only affects the time entry selector, not the task management views
- Existing time entries linked to tasks are not affected
