Editing Time Entries

The Edit Time Entry screen lets you modify every field of an existing time entry — including the project, task, times, description, tags, and billable status.


How to Open the Edit Screen

  1. Go to the Time Entries tab
  2. Find the entry you want to edit
  3. Swipe right on the entry card — a blue "Edit" button appears
  4. Tap "Edit" — the edit screen opens with all fields pre-filled

Via Entry Detail

  1. Tap an entry card to open it
  2. Use the Edit action

Editable Fields

Project & Task

Tap the project/task selector to open the combined selector modal:

  1. Search or browse the project list — recently used projects appear first
  2. Tap a project to select it
  3. If the project has tasks, a task list opens automatically
  4. Tap a task (or go back to skip task selection)

Changing the project resets the task and updates the project tags.

Description

Free-text field. Tap to edit. Can span multiple lines.

Start Time

Tap the start time field to open the date and time picker. Displays a platform-native picker:

  • iOS — wheel-based date + time selectors
  • Android — calendar grid for date, clock face for time

End Time

Same picker as Start Time. The duration shown in the header is updated in real time as you change start/end times.

Validation
  • End Time must be after Start Time
  • Minimum duration: 1 minute
  • If these constraints are violated, an alert is shown when you tap Save

Tags

The tag area shows three sections:

To add a custom tag: tap the tag input field and type the tag name. To remove a custom tag: tap the × on an existing custom tag badge.

Billable

A toggle switch. When enabled, the entry is marked as billable to the client. Default: follows the project's billable default setting (you can override it here).


Saving Changes

Tap "Save" to validate and apply all changes.

On success:

  • The entry updates in the Time Entries list
  • Duration is recalculated from the new start/end times
  • A toast notification confirms the update
  • The screen closes and you return to the list

Offline: If you are offline, the update is saved locally and queued for sync when you reconnect.


↩ Discarding Changes

Tap "Cancel" or the back button to exit without saving. All edits are discarded.


Deleting from the Edit Screen

Tap the "Delete" button at the bottom of the edit screen. A confirmation dialog appears:

Delete this time entry?

This action cannot be undone.

[Cancel] [Delete]

Tap "Delete" to confirm — the entry is permanently removed and the screen closes.

Cannot Undo

Deletion is permanent. Use the Cancel button in the confirmation dialog if you change your mind.

Offline: Deletions performed offline are queued and synced when you reconnect.


Sync Status After Edit

After saving, the entry shows a sync status indicator:
